Mulec Wines

They boast a diverse palette of wines, in which 8 white varieties can be found (rhine riesling, sauvignon, traminer, chardonnay, pinot gris, rizvaner, yellow muscat, muscat ottonel) and 2 red varieties (zweigelt and pinot noir).

In the heart of Slovenske gorice, only 15 km out of Maribor city centre, lies winemaking farm Mulec. Their tradition of producing outstanding quality wines goes back 100 years. They cultivate 5 hectares of vineyards, out of which they produce about 30,000 litres of wine annually, all of it bottled. The best southern positions of Ročica and Spodnje Hlapje aid their high-quality grapes, and therefore wine. Because of this, ice harvests, dry berry selections and red sparkling wines (made from zweigelt and pinot noir) ripen in their 150-year-old cellar. That their efforts are not in vain is proved also by numerous medals and awards from wine fairs in Slovenia, Austria and England (Vino Ljubljana, AWC Vienna, Decanter).
