When the wine is ready, it is bottled into special 2.5 dcl bottles that are specially made for the Old Vine Winery by famous artist Oskar Kogoj. The spiral that runs down the bottle’s long neck represents the infinite longevity of the Old Vine.
The leaf of the Old Vine has five parts, the surface of which is corrugated, and in the lateral groove, there is a natural notch which forms the shape of a heart.
The event soon became a celebration for the whole town that today attracts many locals as well as amateur guests, including politicians and diplomats.
The Old Vine has survived many ordeals. It has maintained its vitality during both world wars, medieval fires, and even the vine louse did not harm it. Aside from its own persistence, favourable natural conditions helped it along the way – a sunny location and its proximity to water.
